You are a lobbyist hired by the petroleum industry to write a 1-2 page letter to your state Senator explaining the importance of opening up protected Alaskan wilderness to petroleum mining. Explain the reserves believed to be there and their importance to the US economy and society. Then take the opposing point of view… also write a 1-2 page letter appealing to the Senator to prevent petroleum drilling in the protected Alaskan wilderness.
