Introduction

The textbook, Politics of the Administrative Process, Chapter 6, Executive Branch and Chapter 7, Organization Problems explains that U.S. politicians frequently make decisions regarding legislation that impact society’s moral compass in the care of its citizens. 

Through public administration, we define who we are as a nation, from economics to pollution to civil rights. But what exactly does it mean to be a public administrator, and how does public administration influence the lives of citizens?

Use this template to write a 3–4-page academic paper and include the following:

1. Define public administration and its importance with a thorough overview of its purpose and function in American society. 

· Answer the following questions: What is public administration? Why is it important?

· Provide an overview of its purpose and function in America. 

· Title this section: Public Administration.

2. Compare public administration to business administration.  

· Provide two specific examples of how the fields are different and two examples of how they are the same. 

· Title this section: Public and Business Administration. 

3. What kinds of occupations are found in public administration? 

· Provide three examples: 

· Nonprofit administration

· Federal government.

· State or local government. 

4. Describe the job functions and requirements of these roles.

5. In thinking about your own career goals, how does the knowledge of the field of public administration apply to your current or future plans?
