Write Annotated bibliography:

An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation usually about 150 words. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the source cited.

First, locate and record citations to books, periodicals, and documents that may contain useful information and ideas on my topic “Civil rights movement.”
Briefly examine and review the actual items. Then choose those works that provide a variety of perspectives topic on “Civil right movement”

Fallow these stapes:

1. Write a concise annotation that summarizes the central theme and scope of the book or article. Include one or more sentences
2. Evaluate the authority or background of the author
3. Comment on the intended audience,
4. Compare or contrast this work with another you have cited
5. Explain how this work illuminates your bibliographic topic.

Annotated bibliographies do not use direct quotes. You will need to summarize the main ideas of the source by paraphrasing Each annotation should be approximately 5 sentences long.
rephrasing the writer’s ideas in your own words.

How to write

You should provide a minimum of 12 annotated sources.
Keep in mind that you do not need to read the entire text in order to write this kind of summary.
Make use of the table of contents, the index, and the introduction.
Use your skimming skills to determine the main argument and concerns of the source.
All secondary sources must have been written after 1990, but the more recent the scholarship.

There are three mandatory types of sources:
you must have at least one non-fiction book, at least one primary source.
and at least 3 scholarly journal articles.
The rest of the sources should be scholarly books and /or articles or primary sources.
Popular sources are unacceptable for this assignment.

Each citation and annotation should be in alphabetical order by the author’s last name and in proper MLA format.
